Teachers Pay Teachers Store Setup | Maintenance Tips

There are a lot of blog post circulating about Teachers Pay Teachers Store Setup and how to get it started. But what happens after that takes place? There are so many different components of a Teachers Pay Teachers store that you should be mindful of throughout the year.

This blog post is a version of my Spring Cleaning Checklistwhich details different ways you can tidy up your business across your website, social media, email, and Teachers Pay Teachers store.

Small Ways to Update your Teachers Pay Teachers Store:

Here are a few tactics you can implement after you set up your Teachers Pay Teachers Store, in order to keep it current.

Re-Organize & Add Product Categories

When a teacher lands at your store, can they easily navigate to the resources that are most relevant to them? If they are visiting your store for the first time, make sure your store clearly communicates the resources you want to be known for by keeping it apparent on the sidebar.

The categories on the side are also helpful when tagging your products for SEO purposes. These tags can be subject specific, timely for the year (Back to School, End of the Year, etc), or they can also be branded series of content that you want to be known for.

Products can sit in more than one category so don’t overdo it, but don’t feel limited with updating your categories.

Re-Write your Titles and Descriptions with Updated Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

When was the last time you reviewed your product listing for updated formatting? Take this time to review your titles. Is the main keyword you want to rank for in TPT search found in the title? Is the keywords sprinkled (not spammed) throughout the description? Do you have other terms that are relevant to your product in the description? Block off time to solely focus on this aspect your store in order to yield better long term search strategy results.

Answer all Frequently Asked Questions

I KNOW…this is something that makes us all cringe. Part of running a business is doing the things we might not always be in the mood for yet remembering that if we pause to set up a process, it will save us a ton of time in the long run.

Update Older Product Covers

Re-branding can be cumbersome, especially when juggling all the things. Now, buyers do judge a book by it’s cover. Here are some things to think about:

  • Do the covers of your big-ticket items have the best branding for your business?
  • Does a themed product line you sell follow a similar look and feel?
  • Struggling to sell a specific product? What does the cover look like?

Change Featured Products Lane

You know what I’m going to say….systems! If every month you know that you need to change the images in your featured lane, can you create some simple google sheet that has four product listings per month that are relevant for that month? This ensures that every month you have a quick list of relevant products to swap to without having to think too deeply about it month over month.

Bundle any Products Necessary

Sift through your TPT product listings and take note of what products can be bundled into a bigger ticket item.
