I am so happy to be blogging with the Elementary Entourage this month! When I received the e-mail to join, I literally jumped up and down—I was so stinkin excited! The Elementary Entourage are a fabulous group of bloggers!
This month we are sharing a treat of any kind & of course since I am a lover of all things technology—it would only be fitting that my first post for EE be about technology!
I have always wanted my kids to keep some type of digital portfolio but I was not sure of any program to help us achieve this goal. At the beginning of the year, the fabulous instructional technologist at my school showed us SEESAW.
What is Seesaw?
Watch this video:
HOW. AMAZING. IS. THAT?
This is my first year using it but I am loving everything about it!
It basically functions like a classroom instagram—Only SO MUCH BETTER because parents can see what their kids are posting as well as what I am posting!
Here are some ways I am using Seesaw:
I created my class and set it to where I have to approve every post and comment before it is seen by others. You can also add other teachers to Seesaw!
We have our specials teachers on seesaw so they can comment and post to the feed!
Parents can download the app and join. They will get a notification every time their child posts!
They can comment and like just like on instagram!
Seesaw even generates the email AND handout for you!
Create folders so your kids can categorize their work!
Here is one student example!

What are you waiting for?
I hope this was a perfect treat for you this month!

Seesaw looks amazing! I wish we had access to that kind of tech in my classroom! We (sadly) cannot even write grants for it because of our district's sever size. I'll have to tough it out with my binder portfolios! haha So glad we are EE now! 🙂
I LOVE!! Seesaw as well. I just started using it and love being able to capture their work digitally. I know there are a lot of options with the app but for right now I am happy to be creating a digital portfolio for each student.
