What is Chat GPT?
Chat GPT is a bunch of chat bots that are powered by large amounts of data and computing techniques to make predictions to string words together in a meaningful way. These chat bots are are able to tap in to a vast amount of information, and also understand words in context.
Is Chat GPT a search engine?
ChatGPT is not a search engine. It is an artificial intelligence chatbot that uses natural language processing to understand and respond to user input. ChatGPT is like a robot friend who can talk to you and answer your questions. The chat bot knows a lot about different things and can help you learn new things.
3 Ways to use Chat GPT as a TPT Seller
There are so many ways you can use Chat GPT to simplify your life. While I mention a ton of ways in Teacher Marketing Society to use Chat GPT, here are a few ways you can try using Chat GPT as a TPT seller.
1. Build an ideation machine
When you’re constantly creating, there comes a point where the creativity runs dry. It’s not your fault, it’s the nature of the work we do. This is where Chat GPT for TPT sellers comes in. Use ChatGPT to help you gather ideas. This is like having a teacher TPT bff that you can bounce ideas off of – and spark curiosity and creativity .
Sometimes it just takes a couple of ideas presented to you for you to kickstart your idea flowing state again.
Try one of these prompts to help gather ideas for your business:
- Give me a few blog title ideas that are [CHARACTER LONG] about [TOPIC] for [TARGET AUDIENCE]
- Give me a few email subject lines that are less than 5 words about [TOPIC]
- What are the painponts for [AUDIENCE] when it comes to [TOPIC]
- Give me a list of mistakes [AUDIENCE] makes about [TOPIC] and how to fix them
- Write an outline for a blog post about X
2. Have a virtual copywriter
Many don’t realize how much writing marketing actually is. At some point, you writing start to look less like words and more like symbols. During this time, you might also notice that your creativity might feel a little off, and your writing begins to get really long winded.
Use Chat GPT to your advantage by asking Chat GPT to edit your work. This is going to save you countless hours in editing. It’s not always the best to edit our own writing, and if you edit right after writing the article itself, you’re probably still going to miss key mistakes.
Here are ways to use Chat GPT as a copywriter:
- Help cut your writing down by asking Chat GPT to simplify your writing.
- Another ideas is to ask if your writing is grammatically correct.
- You can also ask Chat GPT to provide you a list of other ways to say the same sentences.
Example: “Give me 10 different ways to write this sentence in a [SPECIFIC TONE].”
3. Help write TPT product descriptions
This can be TPT or any other format. Give Chat GPT prompts and constraints to work within to have it do the first draft for you.
I sell a product to [AUDIENCE] about [TOPIC] the key benefits of the product are [BENEFIT #1], [BENEFIT #2], [BENEFIT #3] and [BENEFIT #4]. This product includes [ADD DETAILS HERE]. Write a product description for this product and ensure it includes the keywords, [KEYWORD 1], [KEYWORD 2], [KEYWORD 3].
3 Ways to avoid using Chat GPT as a TPT Seller
1. Don’t copy and paste exactly what Chat GPT tells you
After doing some research, I came across some research you should be aware of. When it comes to intellectual property, the model for ChatGPT “is trained on a corpus of created works and it is still unclear what the legal precedent may be for reuse of this content, if it was derived from the intellectual property of others,” according to Bern Elliot, analyst at Gartner.
This is an entirely new tool for the world and it’s not heavily regulated yet. That said, you did not write the work yourself, so as a word of caution, don’t copy word for word what Chat GPT tells you. Use Chat GPT as inspiration and tweak the copy so that it works for your business.
2. Chat GPT is not human-centered
While Chat GPT can write for you, it can’t come up with the punchy and creative copy that excites people in a unique way. If everyone was copy/pasting – everyones’ copy would look the exact same.
You can ask Chat GPT to write copy in a friendly, charismatic tone, etc. But some of the out of the box copy ideas that really make marketing magical, Chat GPT isn’t quite there yet.
Try one of these prompts:
- Write at a 5th grade level. Use clear and simple language, even when explaining complex matters. lean toward short sentences. Don’t use jargon or acronyms.
- Write in a friendly and charismatic tone…
- Write in a casual, friendly way, as if you were telling a friend about something. Use natural language and phrases that a real person would use: in normal conversations]
- [Format your response using markdown. Use headings, subheadings, bullet points, and bold to organize the information]
- [Voice and style guide: Use short sentences and metaphors. Write like a master of conciseness. Use short, punchy sentences as often as possible.]
- Use a convincing tone, rhetorical questions, and stories to keep the reader interested. Use similes, metaphors, and other literary tools to make your points easier to understand and remember. [Write in a way that is both educational and fun.]]
- Rephrase this text “your text” in [style]
3. Chat GPT can make mistakes
It’s important to remember that Chat GPT is not foolproof. There are a few times when you ask Chat GPT something, that it spits back out incorrect and inconsistent information. We all move quickly, so it’s best if you can remember to chat that the information Chat GPT is presenting to you is correct.
