Nearpod recently launched THREE new updates and we’re only a month into 2021! Here’s a short walkthrough of each one.
If you’re more of a visual learner, I’ve created a video tutorial here:
1. Activity Banks
Nearpod has created an ‘activity bank’ of pre-created Time to Climb, matching pairs, and draw-it activities. If you’re not familiar, you can go to the Nearpod library and see all of these amazing lessons – but here’s how it’s different…
When creating or customizing a lesson, you can search for a specific pre-created activity and ADD IT INTO YOUR LESSON. You can still tweak these activities when they’re in your lesson
2. Whiteboarding
Now, you can launch a whiteboard at any time during your Nearpod lesson and your students will be able to see what you’re doing on your whiteboard in real time.
This feature is great for:
- Teacher modeling
- responding to or addressing a misconception
- Quick amendments to your lesson in person or virtual
If you want to see a visual – I’ve time stamped the tutorial here.
3. Teacher Annotation
When teaching with a Live Nearpod lesson, you can annotate on content slides during the session. Students will then be able to see the annotations on their screen as well.
This is different from whiteboard- whiteboard opens up a NEW slide. Teacher annotation helps you annotate on a content slide.
I’ve time stamped the visual for this update on my YouTube video here.
