Creating video content can feel intimidating considering all of the pieces needed to pull it off. In this post, I’m going to show you how to batch create Instagram Reels, Tik Toks, and Pinterest Idea Pins so that you can save time and stretch the shelf life of your hard work.
How to batch create Instagram Reels, Tik Toks, and Pinterest Idea Pins:
Tip #1: Plan Ideas around your niche
Your content as a whole should center along a few themes and this is the type of video that you want to create. Try and define your main monthly campaign topics so that you have those themes top of mind when you find trending music.
Your video content should focus on these core styles:
- Educational – what are you teaching?
- Informational – sharing a quick update or something about your brand
- Trending – what fun, inspiring, or satirical content can you create using trending music?
- Authority driven – How can you showcase that you’re an authority figure with detailed thoughts?
Tip #2: Create a system to save videos and sounds
The social media scroll is inevitable, but if you keep your content creation top of mind, even with mindless scrolling, it will serve a purpose. Try to align content that you come across to your brand and your niche. When you find a concept that could work for your brand, save it for later.
But how?
Everyone that reads this blog post will have a different system because it only matters if it works for you.
Create a saved folder via Instagram to organize what you find so that you can quickly grab what you need when it’s time.
Tip #3: List ideas relevant to the saved videos and sounds
This tip goes hand in hand with Tip #2. The idea you have tied to a specific sounds/video might come to mind late at night or a few day before you actually film. Will you remember what your idea was days later? Chances are slim. This is why I house my thoughts in Airtable, to organize my video/sound collection. There’s also an app so I can add on the go.
Using Airtable, I add the general direction of the video content I want to create so that when it comes time to film, I can eliminate the guesswork.
Tip #4: Pick a batch day
Pick a day and time to solely focus on video creation. Think how much time you will save by only having to put makeup on once, set up your tripod, get in the zone, etc. You’ll enter your groove so much faster and will be able to create more video content than you realize.
Tip #5: Lay our your outfits
In order to give the appearance that you are creating on different days, change clothes for each video so that your feed doesn’t look like the exact same image repeated.
For me, you know I like to wear the same shirt in my brand colors for brand awareness. Free People is one of my favorite brands to find the colors I need to match my feed:
Tip #6: Schedule and edit when you have time
Just because you filmed all of the content, doesn’t mean that you have to edit it all in once sitting. I’ve done this before and do this sometimes out of sheer excitement, but the main effect for me is burnout. Ensure that you’re not cramming it all in because that’s when mistakes happen and resentment builds up.
How to repurpose for Tik Tok:
Even if Tik Tok is not a part of your core content strategy, you’re not giving yourself credit for the content you’re already creating. Let me preface that I know that each social channel needs a different strategy, but, that doesn’t mean you can’t repurpose what you have to drive traffic and build brand awareness.
In order to keep repurposing top of mind, you have to remember to actually cross-promote across platforms.
Download your Instagram Reels and upload them to your Tik Tok account. Keep them saved in drafts and create a schedule where you plan to post every X days. If you’ve already started to create Instagram Reels, you are sitting on tons of content already! I set a timer in my phone to remind myself to post every day from repurposed content.
How to repurpose for Pinterest Idea Pins:
Pinterest Idea pins are something fairly new and if you’re looking to recycle your content, this is an easy place to start. Pinterest’s Idea pins feels like Tik Tok mixed with Instagram Stories. Pinterest created Idea Pins to compete with other channels so it’s in your best interest (if Pinterest is a channel you’re using), to create Idea Pins using the content you’re already creating.
IMPORTANT: There are strategic ways to create Idea Pins but in this post we’re going to talk about repurposing what you’ve already created for Pinterest Idea Pins.
You can do this by:
- Downloading your Instagram Reels and uploading to Pinterest
- Downloading your Tik Toks and using Snaptik to remove the watermark before uploading to Pinterest
Pinterest Idea Tip: At this time, it’s safer to save the drafts on your phone versus a computer. When I tried to save my pins on a computer, it was not allowing me to pull them back up and post.
Hopefully these organizational tips all about how to batch create Instagram Reels, Tik Toks, and Pinterest Idea Pins will keep you organized so that you can fly through your video content creation.
