My book is Dear Santa, Love, Rachel Rosenstein. This book is about a sweet little Jewish girl who loves everything about Christmas and wants nothing more than for Santa to visit her home. Spoiler alert: He doesn’t show up! However, she learns that there are other friends (and celebrations) that also don’t celebrate Christmas.
This book is excellent if you are looking to share more about the different cultures in your classroom. It can be so easy to just read the fun Santa stories (don’t get me wrong I am a fan of those, too). This book encourages conversation for other celebrations and eliminates the other friends in your classroom to feel left out. This book does an excellent job of highlighting those common emotions that those that celebrate other holidays feel during the Christmas season.
