Like hiking, growing your business has its ups and downs. You're tempted to to take the easy path, but remember, the best view is from the top. While visiting Lake Louise, instead of the crowded tourist trail, we chose the lesser-traveled route to Big Beehive. Fewer people, but breathtaking views.

I told myself that I would actually learn Spanish, not just Spanglish. & Although I didn't start till a month ago, I'm still taking multiple weekly lessons and reading books in Spanish.

It's time to stop thinking about the thing and start doing the thing. You've got this. 💪

Networking with others is such an underrated need when launching a business. Having a circle of like-minded people keeps you motivates, helps you break out of your mindset, and gives you accountability.

I challenge you to reach out to one person you have wanted to reach out to but have been too scared to try. Get out there and network!

Yesterday was truly an emotionally charged experie

Yesterday was truly an emotionally charged experience for me as a Latina woman. I had the privilege of participating in the @lattitudeventures conference, courtesy of working with @fabulinguakids, a company founded by Latinos.

During the conference, the Co-Founder and President of @fabulinguakids shared her inspiring journey and her mission to empower every child with the gift of a second language. - & pitched on stage!

I had the opportunity to watch people that look just like me - bravely pitch their innovative companies to venture capitalists, all while sharing their immigration stories and their pursuit of the “American Dream”.

& I listened in to Latinas in leadership positions, like the NFL, discuss their experiences as Latina women in leadership roles.

Another highlight was having dinner with @maxeme305, the Founder of @caribu,Apple 'Best of 2020' App, who successfully sold her company to Mattel. Her leadership journey and kindness left a mark I won’t forget.

Before I went home, I attended the Stanford Latino startup mixer.

Why was this so significant?
It shed light on the glaring absence of Latina business leaders in the corporate world.

Latina women make up a mere 1.6% of senior executives in the largest companies in the country.

Latinas are also underrepresented as managers (4.4%) and as professionals (3.2%)

Being at the event and witnessing my culture thrive in the business world was an incredibly emotional experience. I teared up so many times!

Immensely grateful for the opportunity to have attended and thankful for @fabulinguakids & @lattitudeventures
