Home Office Set Up for TPT Sellers

Everybody is always searching for the best way to set up their home office, and while everyone has the perfect scenario in their head, we have space and lighting to account for what we can realistically do. As a entrepreneur in a 1-bedroom 980 sq. foot condo, I have had to get creative when it comes to my set up. Here is a home office set up for TPT sellers. Use this post to inspire your work area!

Location of my Home Office Set Up:

When I first moved to Florida, I had a extra bedroom for the sole purpose of my business, but I never used it. Why? Because there was hardly any natural light. Now, I’m in a tinier space and although I do wish at time I had a bigger nook for my office, I am so grateful for all my windows!

What can you learn from this?  If possible, place your desk where you’ll have natural light. This will help you with filming, and just overall atmosphere in general.

Standing Desk Comfort

I have wanted a standing desk for years and I’m SO thankful that I invested in my business and my productivity by purchasing one! Here is the one I purchased. I purchased the E1 with desktop size 55” × 28”. This desktop is bigger than my old Ikea top and I feel that my arms have much more room to enjoy the space.

I highly recommend the standing pad also. This was given as a gift and something I did not think I needed until I stood without it. It definitely takes the pressure off when working!

If you’re not ready to commit to a standing desk, I had the Ikea desk before and used this marble wallpaper to cover my desk and make it look nicer. It’s whatever your budget allows.

Since I have a standing desk, I recently opted for an ergonomic high chair that can function as a regular chair and a high top.

Desktop Organization:

A cluttered space creates a cluttered mind, so I really try and  and keep my desktop free of items lingering. The shelf box is PERFECT for housing anything you want to add as decoration, or store for easy to grab access. The phone holder sounds silly, but it totally comes in handy when filming reels and IG Stories.

You can’t see from the pictures, but I used this printer. I’ve had it for almost 10 years and it works perfectly! I love that it’s wireless printing and I can also scan papers if needed.

Keeping yourself organized

As you know from the ‘Gram, I love a good organizational framework and strongly believe that setting time to create a week of intention will lead to a more productive (and relaxing) week. I’m also able to see at a glance what my goals are and can check if what I’m working on is helping me reach my goals.

My daily, weekly, and monthly planning templates take into account the whole solopreneur, the one who wants to get things done but also have a personal life. Depending on my mood, I print out a page that works for me that day and plan what I need to get done – while looking at my weekly spread to ensure I’m working towards my weekly goals.

Glass wear to keep my heart happy

I swapped my regular glassware for these frosted cups, and it makes my heart so happy! It’s nice to be able to look up and have a bright and cheery cup with a cute glass straw looking back at me.

Keeping my home free of distractions

Bluetooth lights

Although I don’t start work till 9am, I wake up at 5:45 am and workout from 6-7am. Mornings can be rough for me, which is why I have my bluetooth likes to accompany my alarm to wake me up. 5 minutes after my alarm goes off, my lights in my bedroom turn on.

Game. Changer.

This forces me to wake up even if I don’t want to because all of the lights woke me up. I find myself more likely to get up when the lights turn on, then if I didn’t have this set up.

I use the Lifex brand since it syncs with my Google Home. The Lifex brand has lasted me years without replacing, and the app has really cool mood lighting settings for color scenes.

Google Home

I never thought I would use a Google Home, but it’s come on hands for multiple reasons!

  • Turn on/off lights
  • alerts me before I have a meeting
  • quick timers so that I can work in sprints
  • dims my lights to let me know it’s time for bed
  • turns on my lights when it’s time to start my day
  • sets up routines for me when I say certain things – Ex: Hey Google, Goodnight (& all my lights turn off)

Delivery dog food for Trixie

I used Farmer’s Dog for years and then I switched off. Wow, did I feel the pain (& so did Trixie). I was making extra trips to the store to buy dog food for Trixie, which meant I was using energy that could be spent somewhere else. Even worse, Trixie lost a ton of weight. I know, I’m not proud of it. The vet and I looked at her chart and you can clearly see her weight dip once I took her off Famer’s Dog.

Now, she’s back on it and it’s one less thing to worry about, time and my dog’s health!

While not every idea will be perfect for you, I hope this home office set up for TPT sellers inspired you to look at your space and tweak it to what you deserve. You spend so much time in that area, that you deserve a face that looks and feels like you – and built with comfort! Even a new plant goes a long way!
