How often do you feel guilt? Guilt that you’re not working hard enough, guilt that you’re working too hard so sacrificing for something else? I definitely felt so much guilt that I was working so much that I never dedicated time for me. That all changed when I started my fitness journey and in turn, my mental headspace became stronger. Here’s a beak down of what I did and how I maintain!
My Workout Routine
We all need that accountability partner to get ourselves out the gates running. I was already feeling guilty about not taking care of myself. I was at my biggest, 168 lbs. I was also my angriest at work. I was not a nice person, y’all. I knew there was something bugging me – I think it was overall unhappiness with the fact that I was not taking care of ME.
My friend invited me to Orange Theory and I committed to working out with her. I went consistently for 3 months but here is the kicker…I did not change my diet. Sure, during this time, I was able to drop weight and was super proud of that, but my lifestyle every where else was the same.
Do you need to go to Orange Theory to drop the weight? Nope, you can do whatever is in your area and makes the most sense for you and your body…but the key here is consistency! You have to push past the guilt and the negative thoughts to maintain a consistent healthy lifestyle.
My Tip: Commit to 1-2 times a week to start off. Don’t set a lofty goal so that you do not become discouraged and then abandon ship.

My Quarantine Routine:
Now that the gyms are closed, I have to work even hard to push past the I don’t wanna’s and the excuses upon excuses. I start my workout with a run. Set a goal before you begin running, so that you know to stick to it. Afterwards, I do the Orange Theory App & end it with a quick set of abs and squats with bands for my booty.
This might be TOO much for you right now. Remember: I am over a year into my fitness journey! I have established these routines already and can push myself harder. It’s 100% if you’re not there yet! It’s what is best for YOU.
My Motivation Tip: Remember how you feel after your workout when you’re getting ready to start. Cling to that feeling
