It’s that time again! 12 bloggers are sharing their favorite read aloud for the month AND giving away four of these books for free!
April Read Aloud and Activity
Rechenka’s Eggs is about our favorite character, Babushka. Babushka is preparing her beautiful patterned eggs for the Easter festival when she takes in Rechenka, an injured goose who ends up being very beneficial to her.

I love using these read aloud as a re-teach or as a center for my class! It makes it so easy when I keep a center consistent and the kids already know what is expected!
The struggle is REAL when it comes to writing! Graphic organizers save me, ha! Since we are learning persuasive writing this week, I tied that into this story. The kids are going to think about what they wish Rechenka would leave them in their Easter egg basket.
#PlanningDocument #You’reWelcome
Okay y’all I am obsessed with QR code comprehension, y’all! I stick these in a center and the kids can use the book to find text evidence and check their answer when they’re done.
Side note: I am aware that the picture says “Fiona’s Luck”. I noticed it as I started typing this blog. It’s Monday and I am obviously illiterate. I have changed the document in the file!

This book is perfect to encourage kindness.
Babushka saw that hurt goose and took it in. Rechenka (the goose) repaid the kindness in return.
April Themed Kindness Activity
Have you seen my other kindness posts? In a previous post, I shared how my district promotes campus wide kindness.
This free activity is an egg-cellent (😅) way to kick up the mid-year kindness and support SEL CASEL competencies by building relationship skills.
