Books Teachers Love: August

Are you looking for a way to intertwine monthly themes and important reading skills? This is the first post for Books Teachers Love. Books Teachers Love is a monthly link-up where 12 teacher write about their favorite read aloud and share how we will use the book in our classroom.
We’ll share how we use it, and you might find a freebie to two.
Could it get any better?
YES.
Each month, you will have a chance to win 4 of the 12 books we blogged about!

The book I am sharing with you all is my absolute favorite. I read this book as a child and it has such an important message for children which is perfect for back to school time.
The book is, “You are Special” by Mac Lucado
UHM….Hello, do you just see all the symbolism happening throughout this book? I can’t believe it either! I am using this book to teach character traits and how we should treat others with respect.

If you follow the yellow brick road, you will remember that I wrote a blog post about character traits and how I use the acronym STEAM to help the kiddoes. One of the books I used was You Are Special.

This book is an absolute favorite of mine, too! I use it at home and at school, and sometimes I just read it because I need the message myself! Thanks for sharing. Love the freebies.
