BlogHoppin: My Classroom Digs

Hello Friends!

……5 minutes later.

Oh, I had to pause to swipe the dust from my keyboard. I have had all these ideas for my blog, and none have made it yet. Some awesome tutorials are coming…so make sure you’re a follower! 🙂

Before I show you my classroom. I have to brag about my district. I have recently been hired to Midway ISD in Central Texas. It is AMAZING!
The ENTIRE DISTRICT is 1:1 iPads (thats EIGHT campuses) AND each teacher is given an iPad to take home.
I can’t even begin to tell you my happiness. I have access to apple TV,
and instructional technologists are everywhere!
I have already taken classes on using Edmodo, flipping my classroom, keynote, book creator….the list goes on and on! What is more amazing is that these classes are not only taught by the instructional technologists…but the PRINCIPALS, APs, AND Teachers! They really empower us and make us feel proud to be here because everyone is contributing. We are ALL learning together.
Oh, and EVERY staff member has a Twitter. We also have classroom Twitters as well!
I am so happy to be here!
This place is my style!
I have definitely scaled down A LOT from last year.
This school truly values simplicity in the sense that we don’t need to OVER decorate to the point that students are concentrating more on the dangling fish than the material.
I say, “dangling fish” because I had that last year…whoops? 🙂
This is my Writing Area.
The WRITE Letters on my board are FREE in my TPT shop!
The Writing Choice bard was purchased from Joey Udovich
The what do writers write pencil is FREE from Cara from the First Grade Parade.
The OTHER pencil is how I will keep track of my kids writing process stage, since they’re all at different levels.
You can check it out HERE.

I run a classroom economy. You can read more about it HERE.
The coupons you can find HERE.

This spot will be for my Word Work.
I am going to give them three choices and they will pick one (if they finish early they’ll pick another)
I’m going to have the response sheets in the bins behind the cards.
These task cards work for ANY spelling list or set of words.
Click HERE to check it out.
This is how I’m going to run my math centers.
You can check out the editable template HERE

The brown wood blocks will house my TWENTY FOUR iPads!!
The iPhone at the top are my QR LISTENING CENTER EBOOKS
They’re amazing and themed by month.
When I found out that I was moving to a new district with so much technology AND a campus that was big on Daily 5….I made as much QR products as possible!
I have some math and social studies QR products as well!
This wall is blank…and it drives me CRAZY.
The school is HUGE on anchor charts so that’s what this will be.
I was going to break the wall up into squares….but I wasn’t sure if I could fit 6 vertically so I just did this. It’s sad. But I have to let it go.

Your classroom looks great! We are a 1:1 campus, but we have Kindle Fire HD's instead of iPads. Isn't it great to have technology at your fingertips ALL THE TIME?!?! 😉

I love your set up and your blog!!! I recently found it last weekend and have discovered so many great ideas already! I teach 2nd grade in Mansfield near Arlington and Ft. Worth. I have had some iPads donated through Donors Choose, so I am slowly building up a good library of them. I LOVE your iPad storage!! Was that made for you or did you buy it?
